From T&D World – We make an impression wherever we go
We were driving around Galveston when we spotted a parking lot full of command post-type vehicles. The satellite dishes could be seen from everywhere. Four-by-four trucks were parked three or four deep. What was this place? I had to stop and see – guess I am just inquisitive, which helps when you are playing reporter. Boy, am I glad I did.
I met the neatest guy Matt Odachowski, president of Royal Plus Disaster Kleenup. Matt said that their business was helping business get back on their feet to be able to help the residents help themselves. What a goal is that!
Matt explained, “Someone has to help stores like Wal-Mart, Hilton, Home Depot, and Kroger reopen. They need to be cleaned up and operational before the resident can shop. The local hotel needs to be open for the relief workers to have a home base in the community.”
They can completely clean the building, extract water, remove mold and fungi, asbestos removal, bio-hazard removal – anything needed they can pretty much do. Remember the saying – it takes a village … I guess that hold for disaster recovery too. Our customers need the electricity we provide, that isn’t a question. However, they need so much more to recover. I am glad to learn of companies like Royal Plus. We sure need them working right beside us.
